What our students say
“As a non-music major, I can honestly say that some of my closest friends have come from the Music Department. The faculty here treats you like a friend, and cares about you as a person and a student, regardless of your major.“
Cory Hogan
“As a non-major I found that the program was very welcoming and have made some of my closest friends through marching and concert band. With a full schedule of classes, working, sorority life and other organizations, staying in band has kept me grounded and gives me a chance to express myself in a way that nothing else can.“
Alex Savala
“The faculty in the music department is absolutely wonderful. They are easy to contact and will always make the time to give you the amount of time necessary for your to excel.”
Cody Brockman
Welcome!
Hello! My name is Dr. Curran Prendergast, Director of Bands at Truman, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the newly designed Truman Bands website. Our website exists to provide a wide range of information about all of our tremendous band ensembles to alumni, current and prospective students. It is a point of pride that we offer a full array of collegiate ensembles that are of such high quality. Our program brings musicians from all around campus to participate in one of our remarkable groups that include the Wind Symphony, Concert Band, Statesmen Marching Band, and the Truman Pep Band. If you have any questions regarding auditions for ensembles or scholarships, our graduate conducting program, arranging a campus visit, or anything at all, please submit your information here and I will get in touch with you shortly.
Sincerely,
Curran Prendergast
