Wind Symphony

The Wind Symphony is comprised of the finest woodwind, brass, and percussion players at the university. The Wind Symphony has gained national recognition through performances at the 1981 National MENC Conference in Minneapolis, MN, the 1985 National CBDNA Conference in Boulder, CO, the 1989 National CBDNA Conference in Austin, TX, the 1994 CBDNA Conference in Waco, TX, 2000 CBDNA Conference in Norman, OK, and the 2014 CBDNA Conference in Fayetteville, AK. The Wind Symphony has also appeared on numerous occasions for the Missouri Music Educators Conference and for the Iowa Bandmasters Convention. In addition, the Wind Symphony has an active concert schedule and tours the midwest regularly.

The Wind Symphonies are under the direction of Dr. Curran Prendergast, Director of Bands.

  • Wind Symphony I meets daily from 11:30-12:20pm
  • Wind Symphony II meets M,W,F from 12:30-1:20pm
  • Auditions are required for these ensembles
